Just in case you’re wondering, there’s nothing in it for us (sales, commissions, or any other reward), it’s purely there because we have found the service invaluable and think you probably will too.
Every day they have a different free commercial product, some of them extremely useful and valuable. So much so that we have our browsers set up with two “home” pages – a blank one, and GOTD as the second so we can see what the day’s freebie is.
Naturally there’s a commercial justification – you might like the product and have to buy it for other machines, or for the office. And then there’s the “trap” situation – when you get a new machine, or re-install the existing one, you won’t have the software any more and if you’ve come to rely on it you’ll have to buy it. No point in keeping the installer – it will only register your copy in the 24-hour period that this product is featured as a Giveaway.
Nevertheless, we’ve found it invaluable in getting hold of useful tools we wouldn’t otherwise have, finding tools we mightn’t have otherwise heard of, and evaluating tools that we would consider buying.
So whenever you visit here, just keep your eye on today’s giveaway and if it looks interesting head on over and grab it, install it straight away, and enjoy! Consider that trick of adding it as a second home page on your browser for even more regular views of what’s on offer.
